HAVE YOU DONATED AT LEAST €250 IN THE TAX YEAR?
If you’re a PAYE worker and make a donation of at least €250 in a calendar year, you can receive tax relief from The Revenue.
By simply completing the SPR1 Cert, you can increase the value of your contribution. This allows St. Molleran’s to claim back the tax associated with your donation at either the standard or the higher rate.
Here’s some examples to illustrate how it works:Â
If you’re on the standard rate of 20%, a donation of €250 will be grossed up to €312.50 (i.e., €250 x 100 ÷ 80). The tax associated with the donation is €62.50.
If you’re on the higher rate of 40%, a donation of €250 will be grossed up to €416.67 (i.e., €250 x 100 ÷ 60). The tax associated with the donation is €166.67.
By completing the SPR1 Cert, you not only support St Molleran’s but also maximize the benefits of your donation.
